Tips to Tattoo Aftercare

Thank you very much for coming today.

The healing of your tattoo is the final aspect of your artwork.

Here are our basic tips to make sure that your tattoo stays bright and beautiful for years to come.

【Notes about the day your tattoo is completed】

Please do not remove your bandage.

Please do not drink alcohol.

Please do not take a shower.

✍️ Aftercare effect ✍️

Immediately after the procedure, the tattoo is a state in which small punctate wounds are pigmented.

With proper aftercare, you can quickly recover the tattooed area and finish it with good coloring.

What you must not do just after tattoo procedure

Drinking Alcohol

Please refrain from drinking alcohol within 2-3 days after the treatment.

※If possible, a week of abstinence is ideal.

Vigorous exercise

Avoid strenuous exercise and muscle training 2-3 days after the procedure.

Immediately after the procedure, the tattoo is delicate and can cause irritation.

Bathing / Hot spring / Pool / Sea and river

Until the treatment site is completely recovered, please refrain from bathing in bathtubs / hot springs or entering the pool / sea.

Tattoos can become inflamed due to germs, chemicals and mud.

Also, if a tattoo that has not been completely cured is exposed to a large amount of water,

it may cause the ink to lose color or bleed.

Sauna

If the treatment site has not completely recovered, moisture in the sauna can cause tattoo ink to lose color or bleed.

Tanning

Avoid direct sunlight and tanning in a tanning salon until the treatment area is completely restored.

Strong UV rays can cause the tattoo to fade.

Even after the tattoo is completely healed, it is recommended to apply sunscreen with SPF 30-70.

About Rayʼs aftercare cream

The care cream given by our studio after the treatment isIt is a two-layer type of white cream and transparent cream.

This is not that the cream is separated, but that the cream switches as the wound heal progress.

Please be assured that it is intentionally made into two layers.

When using, please do not stir and use as it is from the top.

After the tattoo is completed, the artist will disinfect and sterilize the area to be treated

and apply a special protective sheet for the tattoo.

This sheet must never be removed on the day the tattoo is completed.

Also, never allow the tattooed area to come in contact with water, such as bathing.

Drinking alcohol is also strictly prohibited.

Since skin tissue regeneration is activated during sleep, please go straight to sleep.

The next morning, carefully remove the protective sheet.

※The tape holding it in place is highly adhesive, so please remove it slowly.

There is no need to apply a protective sheet thereafter.  In fact, it will have the opposite effect.

Gently wash the tattooed area to remove any fluid and excess ink that has oozed from the tattoo.

Lather lukewarm water with unscented antibacterial soap or mildly acidic body soap and wash gently and soothingly.

After washing the tattoo, gently wipe off the water with a towel.

※At this time, never rub the tattooed area hard. It may cause inflammation.

After removing excess water from the tattooed area, allow the tattoo to air dry naturally.

Apply Vaseline to the tattoo in a thin, spreadable layer. ※Be careful not to apply too much at once.

If too much is applied, the tattoo (skin) will not be able to breathe, which in turn increases the possibility of bacterial growth.

Reapply Vaseline to the tattoo multiple times a day (at least 3-5 times).

The key to a beautiful tattoo is to maintain a moisturizing environment.  In other words, don't let them dry out!

It is recommended to continue applying it for approximately one to two months from the date of completion of the procedure.

Also, the skin will "itch" as it regenerates, but DO NOT SCRATCH!

Forcibly peeling off the scab (thin skin) is also strictly prohibited. Wait for the scab to peel off naturally.

Itching can be somewhat reduced by cooling the treated area, so please try this.
